This package is the perfect getaway for couples who wish to get away from it all. Let the break start at your door, and take the train/bus & free shuttle to Clifden Eco Beach for a relaxing break in a tranquil setting. Enjoy a real camping experience in our comfortable and spacious Eco Adventure tent.
First day:
Arrival in Clifden via public transport where you are picked up from the bus station, with just 10 minute drive along the Wild Atlantic Way to Clifden Eco Beach Camping & Caravanning Park. On arrival, you will receive an introduction to sustainable camping and a tour of the campsite with an explanation of our organically sourced spring water treatment on-site and the sustainability of reusable bottles. After the introduction, we will show you your accommodation. After settling in you can make a self-guided walk to Omey Island (depending on the tide) or enjoy a walk on the beach and in the evening enjoy a campfire beside your tent, using sustainable firewood and fire lighters (optional extra).
Second day:
Collect your bikes in the morning and enjoy a cycling tour along the ‘Wild Atlantic Way’. The campsite is located directly on the Wild Atlantic Way Cycle Route, which boasts continuous views. A map with a choice of tours along this route will be available to you. We recommend visiting the local pubs in Claddaghduff and Cleggan for lunch as they have excellent dishes of local seafood. Provisions can also be bought along the way in the local shop in Claddaghduff.
On your return enjoy a seaweed bath on the beach in Irish Oak Whiskey Barrels heated by unique wood burners to a toasty temperature to suit all tastes, topped off with freshly harvested organic seaweed from the water surrounding the bay. The barrels are situated right on the beach offering one of the most spectacular views on the Connemara Coastline part of the Wild Atlantic Way.
The evening can be enjoyed with a campfire beside the tent or on the beach (optional extra).
Third day:
Option to have a self-guided walk to Omey Island if not done on the first day. Return to Clifden Bus Station.
Pricing details:
The price is €260 based on two persons. Price includes tent, sleeping equipment, bikes, seaweed baths and pick up/drop off. Subject to availability.
